In fact, even though they did not appear as the majority among the employees until 1914, they dominated certain core business departments. They were both the customers and the clerks in the growing business. They dominated departments such as the fashion industry, m arket place, dry goods, and the sales force. In these setup the roles of women was seen as an extension of their domestic duties and a significant experience in the specialty of business.The department owners go about various challenges when implementing their strategies. Among them was the necessary training needed for new staff. Older sales representatives trained new staff, their competitiveness and experience was a thorn in the flesh for the owners.
